Who is Caspar Schols ?
Caspar Schols is a Dutch designer, architect, and artist known for his work that blends architecture, ritual, and presence. He is most recognized for Cabin ANNA, a movable wooden structure designed to interact with nature and human experience, influenced by his childhood experiences building shelters.
Initially a physics student, Schols transitioned to art and architecture. A significant project was the 2016 Garden House, designed after his father’s death, which garnered attention and led to a scholarship at the Architectural Association in London. Schols believes architecture should deepen our connection with nature, promoting rituals, mindfulness, and a slower pace of life through his designs.
He leads Studio Caspar Schols and co-founded the Carroccera Collective, which focuses on re-imagining living within natural landscapes. His projects, including the ANNA Series, Aperture series, and Missing Room, have received numerous international awards and extensive media coverage.
