Official Update
Reader Topic Voting Starts in Review First
New reader-suggested subtopics now enter a moderation queue before they can appear for public upvoting.
Reader suggestions are useful only if the public topic list stays clean. New subtopics now start in review, where editors can merge duplicates, hold weak or unclear requests, approve good candidates for public voting, or promote mature requests into official WordPress tags.
The first version keeps this lightweight: no reader account is required, votes are limited by browser and email signals, and the operations page lives inside the WordPress admin area. That keeps early operating cost low while still preserving a path toward richer audience signals later.
