How to Build a Passive Solar House – Simple Guide to Stay Warm Using the Sun
🌞

 Step-by-Step Solar House Construction :

Build South-Facing Windows

Position the largest windows facing south to capture the most sunlight.

Use clear glass to let in direct solar rays.

Inside the windows, build a thermal mass wall using concrete or water barrels to store and radiate heat slowly.

Insulate the House Completely

Make sure walls, roof, and especially the north side (no sun exposure) are very well insulated.

Avoid placing windows on the north to prevent heat leakage.

Circulate Warm Air Naturally

As the sun heats the wall inside, warm air rises to the top of the room.

Place vents near the top so this air can move to cooler parts of the house.

As it cools and sinks, add a lower vent that lets it flow back into the sunroom to be heated again.

Use Natural Materials

Cob, stone, or concrete blocks are ideal for trapping heat.

Roof can be metal or clay tile — but well-sealed to keep warmth in.

Design Efficiently

Keep the living areas close to the sun-heated zone.

Minimize air leaks through sealed doors and thick curtains.
